بناء على نصائح كثير قمت بشراء مودم خارجي لاستخدامه مع اللينكس ريدهات 8.... لم استطع حتى الان تعريفه

You don't have to configure it, it should be automatically detected.

Click on the menu button > System tools > Internet Configuration Wizard.
Then choose MODEM connection, press forward and fill in all required information and press forward and then press Apply after checking that all information is correct.

You just have to Activate the device in order to connect!!:D

اخواني طيب كيف اعرفه الى نظام الينكس بس يكون الشرح بالعربي لان ثقافتي عاميه:)

لنيكس لايحتاج الي تعريف خاص لاستخدام المودوم الخارجي. فقط اشبكه مع الكمبيوتر عن طريق الكابل التسلسلي Serial.

ثم عند اضافه اتصال الي الانترنت، فان لنيكس (من المفروض) ان يتعرف علي المودم الخارجي تلقائيا.

اذا لم يتعرف عليه (لا مشكله، لنيكس يحب اللعب احيانا) اضف المودم الخارجي يدويا:
/dev/ttys0

ثم بعد ذلك ادخل المعلومات المطلوبه (رقم الهاتف, اسم المستخدم, كلمه
السر) وعند بدء الاتصال بشركه الانترنت، ستجد ان المودم يعمل.

ما بقى احد في العالم الا وقالي ان المودم يتعرف اوتوماتيك....

عندي ما تعرف شسوي

رحت للهاردوير براوسر ولا عرفه...

سويته انستول مره ثانيه ولا تعرف

شسوي؟؟؟

كيف اعرفه يدويا

فيه امرين ما عرفت اشغلها على التيرمنال

setserial ماعرفت وش فايدته رغم اني قريت الهلب الف مره

Follow thes steps :

Click on "Internet Configuration Wizard" and then click on "Hardware" . Click Add and choose Modem. The system will search for the modem and will tell you there is NO modem.

Don't worry. In front the "Modem Device" there is a list. Open the list by clicking on the arrow and then choose

/dev/ttys0

after that for the "Modem Volume" choose 'Medium' so that you can hear the modem when it works. Now, add an Internet account, and when you try to connect , the modem will hopefully work.

I added that but it didn't work ..... I am thinking to uninstall this linux and stick with Microsoft ****..thanks again
