:"
Ali Karimi, the Al Ahli Star player who was injured in his last game by Al Nasr midfielder Salah Abbas, will probably be out from playing for a period of two months.
Karimi who returned to Tehran on Saturday, has done an MRI test to determine his level of injury and unfortunately the results have shown a moderate injury to his right knee and he might not be able to play for an unknown period. This puts Karimi's presence in the friendly tournament in Hong Kong under question.
Salah abbas denies any bad intentions behind the injury he inflicted on the Iranian star:
"I didn't intend to cause any injury to him. Karimi went past my teammate Abdullah Rabie at that moment I advanced to clear the ball, but Karimi tried to swerve to the left and my foot collided with his and he fell down," he said.
"My style of play is strong, enthusiastic and serious, but without the rough play or harsh tackles. I don't think of hurting any player there is no reason for me to do so," he added.
Karimi who was also invited to play in the World XI against Italian giants Juventus loses another great chance to play alongside World Cup star, Gabriel Batistuta because of this injury
