Let me get the great news out of the way first, because this to me is going to be the biggest selling point for not only myself, but for many sports gamers. Top Spin is the first true online Tennis game. In fact, it is the first console online Tennis game. And not just online, but online with XSN Sports! You may be number one in your own living room, but Xbox Live gives you the chance to prove it, any time and any place, on a global scale. Climb worldwide ladders, play tournaments, take on all challengers in singles matches, or find a skilled partner for doubles play. All you need to do is jump online and either find yourself something with the optimatches, or sign up for XSN Sports and join a full tournament circuit where you go up against the rest of the field to achieve that #1 ranking. Now if you haven't gotten yourself into an XSN Sports league yet, you don't know what you're missing. Let me get up on my soapbox for a quick second, and make an apparent unpopular comment. Those of you who are passing up NFL Fever 2004 because Madden and ESPN look better, you really don't understand what you're missing. Hooking up with the XSN Sports leagues in Fever really is sweet, and XSN Sports does all the work for you with stats and standings and everything. Ok, off the soapbox. Top Spin will be no different. Now I was able to get a couple of games online in with some of my buddies in the media, and I can tell you the game is going to rock online. This is something that Tennis games needed. I said before that Sega's Virtua Tennis needed it. And now us Tennis fans are actually going to get it.

We'll be back on October 18th to bring you the full review. But I can't help but at least hint to you that this could be the beat-all-end-all Tennis game. The Xbox will have scored a major sports victory because so far there have been no real contenders in the Tennis field this year. We'll see you in a couple of weeks Tennis fans!
