Did you know that season fairies create the snow, rain, wind and clouds? Saga is a responsible, young girl with no thought of magic or fairies and plans out every detail of her day very carefully. One day, she finds Sugar, an apprentice season fairy studying in the human world to become a snow fairy, and only Saga can see her. Sugar and her fairy friends Salt and Pepper turn Saga's world upside-down as they begin their quest to complete magic school.

This aptly-named series is as cute and sweet as the title suggests. A Little Snow Fairy Sugar is one of the few anime that are perfectly suitable for children, with animation and music as endearing as its story. Too many episodes draw this series out a little too long, but it is still a story that adults and children alike will enjoy. Step aside Chiyo-chan and Puchiko, you have a new rival in the "Cutest Female in Anime" competition. Sugar, sweetly voiced by Kawakami Tomoko, is as cute as they come. Each character is designed to look innocent and adorable, with colorful, expressive eyes. The watercolor backgrounds of the fictional European town are simply beautiful; complemented with the soothing piano melodies of the score, the two produce a comforting, peaceful tone to the story.

This show may be a cuteness overload for viewers over the age of thirteen, but children especially will delight in the characters and their quest to become full season fairies. Adults who watch the show will no doubt appreciate the finer points of the story, which give emotional attachment to both Saga and Sugar and their friendship. The story, however, could be resolved in thirteen episodes and still have the same effect. A series of twenty-four episodes is a lot to ask of most people's attention span, much less a child's, unless the story is steadily advanced. In this case, many of the episodes are self-contained stories which add even more adorable situations for the fairies but do not contribute to the overall plot.http://www.animeacademy.com/library/lsfs/lsfs-2.jpg

If you are looking for a sugary sweet series and have a fondness for cute characters, or for the ideal show to watch with your younger friends or relatives, you don't have to be a child to enjoy A Little Snow Fairy Sugar. You'll believe a turtle can fly.
