Are you sick and tired of the same old Final Fantasy XI music? Would you rather substitute in your own soundtrack? Well, you can!
Step 1: Download the program here: Click here (http://www.angelfire.com/ks3/kaede/ff11/XiMC004.lzh)
Step 2: Using WinRAR (not sure if WinZIP works), extract the files to any folder you wish. The program is in Japanese, but it's easy enough to figure out.
step 3: The FFXI music files are stored in: C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\sound\win\music\data. Backup the music files before you change anything. The program does not ask you whether or not you want to overwrite the music, so if you overwrite the wrong music file on accident, then it's gone.
Step 4: Take any music file you have (be it CD, mp3, wma, etc.) and convert it to a .wav (the program you just downloaded can only convert .wav files to FFXI music files: .bgw). To do this conversion to .wav, I highly suggest using
dBPowerAMP Music Converter (http://www.dpoweramp.com/dmc)
Step 5: Once you've converted your soundtrack to .wav files, open XiMC.exe and convert your .wav files to .bgw. You can then rename them to the music file which you want to replace (for example, music101.bgw, music102.bgw, and music103.bgw are battle songs).
Step 6: Enjoy your customized soundtrack while you bash the hell out of
those monsters!
How is it goin guys , well here a lil prog that will hopefully make FFXI more enjoyable ^^
