Eidos admits the offer of a buyer while their bursatil shares collapse
The company advises its shareholders to accept the offer in case it is finally done.
Eidos has announced the results of the first six months of their current financial year (from 01/07/05 to 31/12/05), with loses of 29.2 pounds. As a result, their shares have dropped a 30%.
The british company, known for its Tomb Raider games, has also confirmed that last 2nd March received an offer from an unveiled buyer who offers 53 pennies for each share (they nowadays are at 40.5 pennies), and it has advised its shareholders to accept the offer if the conditions for the buyer to formalise it are met.
Eidos has got a new credit line from the bank RBS, but in case of not receiving a formal offer, or not getting alternative financiation before 25th march, RBS will have the right to ask Eidos to sell actives or intelectual property to afford the conceded credit.
The company has also confirmed the delay of two of its most anticipated titles, the new Hitman Blood Money and the new Tomb Raider. They both will be released in the 2006 fiscal year: from 30 June 2005 to 29 June 2006."
