Im gonna tell u abit abt the aeons in ffXII
Each race can only summon a specific Totema
A number of these monsters look similar to summoned beasts in previous Final Fantasy games
ULTIMA

Soaring high above the planet, the summoned beast uncovers a giant canon under its dress. A close-up reveals the face of a beautiful woman. As it awakens, energy is gathered near the tip of the canon and powerful beam is shot towards the planet

In a barren land with high mountains, the monster appears to gather energy as it holds its lance towards the sky. The screen fades into bright light as the lance bursts into flames. The monster leaps into the air and as it descends, the monster plunges the lance straight into the ground
