No matter how hard you hit me

Can be worse than what I feel inside



No matter how much I bleed

My soul has bleed far more

You can strike me all you like

But you’ll never touch my core



On the surface I seem fine

Uncracked strong and good

But underneath I’m dying

And how I wish I could



I’m going to welcome this pain

So my body can feel like my soul

And then everyone will see that I'm broken

Rather than thinking I'm a flawless whole



I'm tired of pretending I'm fine

When I'm so far from that feeble lie

So, this pain will keep me standing here

And maybe that lie won’t die



So you are going to hit me

And I will show no pain

And maybe you will try some more

Over and over again



But when I show no fear

Maybe you will think I’m strong

You’ll never know the place to hurt me

Was the inside all a long
