These are the first screens you will see when you start BitLord up - i have removed items for my own security http://forum2.youceff.com/images/smilies/grin.gif You will see the search facility on the left hand side, this uses a site called 2torrents (PLEASE NOTE - this site operates a token system in order to download torrents) On the right-hand side you will see the transfer box - i will give you a quick run down of the headings in the section

Getting BitLord to Work
http://img279.echo.cx/img279/2438/bitlord2pic8le.png (http://www.imageshack.us/)

In this picture we have 2 important areas

1. GLOBAL UPLOAD LIMIT - this is section where you put the 80% into, this can be found by dividing your maximum upload speed by 8 and taking away 20% - (for example - 256kb/s upload / 8 = 32KB/s - 20% = about 28KB/s) WE DO NOT know your upload limit - if you are unsure contact your ISP and ask them.
2. LISTEN PORT - this is very important for users that connect to the internet via a ROUTER - if you use a router please visit www.portforward.com (http://www.portforward.com/) and follow the instructions for bitcomet - however you only need open ONE port number and this should match the LISTEN PORT number in the bitlord Preferences

PLEASE NOTE - WE CAN ONLY PROVIDE BASIC INSTRUCTIONS FOR SOME ROUTERS - PLEASE FEEL FREE TO ASK

After you have properly configured the router please remember to reboot

After rebooting please check the LOGS section shown in this image

http://img279.echo.cx/img279/9743/bitlord3pic6rj.png (http://www.imageshack.us/)

This will show you any errors with the router or firewall settings

FIREWALLS

BitLord is known to work with most firewalls including

Mcafee personal firewall
Sygate
Panda
ZoneAlarm

BitLord is known to conflict with

Norton

As long as BitLord is given full permission through the firewall you should have no problems - However again we are unable to give precise firewall support - Please visit the website of the firewall you use for more information.

Right so now we have BitLord configured we need to visit a torrent website to get ourselves a .torrent file to download - i suggest you start Here (http://prometeus.daricash.com/) - Now when you have found a torrent that you wish to download make sure it has a good deal of SEEDS on it if not then your download speeds may suffer - ok click it - when faced with the choice OPEN NOW or SAVE TO DISK i always recommend that you save the torrent file to disk, that way should anything go wrong you always have to start again with.

Now with BitLord open in front of you click OPEN and you will get this image (or something like it)

http://img279.echo.cx/img279/7426/bitlord5pic3ft.png (http://www.imageshack.us/)

Click on the .torrent file you wish to start and leave it for at least 10 mins, if it does not appear to be doing anything then check the TRACKER section, this will let you know if there is a problem with the tracker - HERE (http://forum2.youceff.com/showthread.php?t=3) is a list of common tracker error messages

In most cases it is best to leave the download for at least 12hrs as tracker errors do have a habit of fixing themselves with a little patience, of course an error messgae that asks you to register with a given site will not fix itself - PLEASE DO NOT COME ASKING FOR INVITES AS WE DON'T CONTROL WHO A SITE ACCEPTS AS MEMBERS - CHECK THE SITE REGULARLY AND YOU MIGHT JUST GET LUCKY also check out this section LINKS HERE (http://forum2.youceff.com/sites.php?#torrents) for more ideas as to where you can download.

If after reading this guide and you are still stuck read this BitLord Posting Rules (http://forum2.youceff.com/showthread.php?t=3564)

And if you still feel the need to post questions - Please make sure that you have exhausted your Google skills before asking. Also, read carefully through this thread and others started at Youceff P2P for answers.

If you still need to ask, please:
-> Say clearly what the problem is
-> Say what version you are using
-> Say whether you are on SP1 or 2
-> The exact setup of your network/ how your computer is connected to the net
-> All the software you are running
-> What you have done so far to try and resolve the problem

Please Ask Questions in the BitLord Support section (http://forum2.youceff.com/forumdisplay.php?f=10)

Further help can be found P2P Forums (http://www.p2pforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=6431)

Also there is this excellent bitcomet/bitlord guide Here (http://www.p2pforums.com/viewtopic.php?p=100487#100487) that will no doubt be of use, a big thanks to Dragosani for allowing us to use this guide

I have also attached a patch for download to this post that has been shown to help users of XP SP2 ONLY increase the connections allowed as XP SP2 limits half-opened connections to 10
