Devil Jin Changes in Tekken Dark Resurrection



Hey guys… sorry to write this in English but that's for 2 reasons: firs: I got problems with the key board and the 2nd is that it's a lot easer this way….



Anyway, on with the show….



Devil Jin is my all time favorite Tekken character…he was really good in T5 but definitely not the best…



To make a long story short … here are the main really nice changes:



1= Square, 2= Traingle, 3 = X, 4= Sircle

d = down, u = up, f= forward, b= back

hcb= half Circle Back

ss = side step



1- he has a new move d/b + 2

this move on normal hit gives him frame advantage…on counter hit it becomes a launcher or a juggle starter

2- new throw, hcb 1+2

This throw can be buffered….which s really really nice….DJ has a total of 6 command throws now

3-new add to the famous LC move b,f,1,2,4

This is a great new add….the old LC move was almost useless on normal hit or when blocked….and it can be punished easily…the new move cannot be evaded…great for mix-ups play and mind games…

4-another add to the LC move b,f,1,2, 1+4

Yes that's right … he can do the spin move…. Unbelievably useful for air combos ... not so much for normal hit

5- ss, 2: This move now launches in the air…they say that its similar to devil Kazua ss 2 in Tekken Tag… I think this would be a great move for DJ and hell yeah ….it's about time….the previous ss 2 was a piece of junk….hardly useful.

6- u 4,4,4,4 the move is not there any more….they but a kick of some sort I am not sure about the prosperities of the kick yet…

I say this is a great thin…. The move was useless any way…and very very punishable.

7- changed the command of d/f +2 into d/f + 1+2

This is a great change ….previously when ever you want to execute an upper cut or the electric upper cut ….this move keeps on showing on…

8- b+1, d/f , 2 doesn't connect on normal hit anymore…but connects in counter

I say its better this way…the move was really slow in the first place and abusable..

9- d/f +2 is a launcher on counter now…

this is too sweet, Devil Jin is my 2nd fave(i prefer pure Karate characters like Ein/normal Jin) here's what i think of the moves :


new throw, hcb 1+2

meh...this calls for using a stick with DR...Tekken is the only fighter i still play with a pad :x now i see more arrow heavy movments



-another add to the LC move b,f,1,2, 1+4

i see a possibilty of a just frame, is the 1+4 blockable? then there might be an unblockable version if Namco gets generous with DJ =p

didnt Jin have this in Tekken 3? a launcher with ss2? l

question remains, will all the characters get beefed up as this? or we will still see a small set of characters+moves dominating the field =p, all we can do is wait

one more important thing for you...EWGF is easier to do :biggthump ...more frames to execute the EWGF

and i think u can connect b+4 after 1+4,2

I have an arcade stick, but I stopped using it cuz it's kinda silly to carry it around with me whenever I go to one of my friends…..



I am not sure about the 1+4 move after b,f,1,2 …. I got confused now….I am not sure if this is the spinning move or just the command for the new added kick….



Jin used to have a ss2 in T3 and TTT but in T5 they changed the effect of that move…in DR, they gave him Devil Kazuya's ss2 which launches opponents really high in the air…you can even execute a laser or a the short version of his unblockable move b + 1+4



And to answer your questions: well, namco is trying to even up the characters and make the game…

DJ was good…but he couldn't stand up to the other characters. he is a 10 frame character and hi is heavy and slow…almost all other 8 frame characters within the had of professional owned him ….

That is true, DK' ss2 is not safe if blocked and that is how it should be…even Jin in T3 and TTT had a ss2 move which was not safe on block

Easier EWGF, I heard about that …but that is not 100% for sure…it was really easy b4 ….maybe the reason is because they change the command of d/f +2 move….we will have to wait and see…



You can connect b+4 after 1+4,2 well J I want b+4 to hit on ground opponents like it used to do in TTT J

Yeah i know a friend who stopped using a stick in tekken because when he went to jeddah it was a hassle to switch <.<

Easier EWGFs??? maybe this is good news to me, but what about vets who feel special because they are the only ppl that can do it 3 times in a row without missing, im sure they wont feel special anymore, HEY no offense to anyone k =p though i think by easier they mean 5-10% easier XD

about VF, if ppl started playing it would u play it? cos ur missing out a great game, even the single player mode is loads of fun thanks to sega's Arcade like story mode where u go play ppl from diffrent arcades, but nothing better than seeing ur opponets face after a defeat, espcially if he was overconfident =p

I do agree with your note of EWGF note...during TTT times i used to be one of the very few people who manage to do a 3 on a raw Jaws were dropping if I even did one EWGF....now its really easy..nothing special about it...

as for VF.... I know that the game itself is great and one of the best ...but if no one else plays the game then what the use...this a fighting game....the essense of fighting games is competing with otheres...no compete...no game......

i mean they add more frame to this move...like kazuya EWGF it's have 5 frmes to do.
what you mean it has 5 frames to do...
this way its not a godd thing its a bad thing ....the regular upper cut by any of the Mishimas needs 11 frames...and they all give +5 frames if you did the elctric one....

so you shoul clarify this info...cuz if they giv DJ more than +5 frames that would be cheap which I doubt it

كلامي كان على أساس أن جين كازما بأسلوبة القديم ..يعني بدون ليزر قوي و مرعب في 3 و tagو عندما رأيت الليزر كرهت اللعب فيه فقط شاهدت حركاته..و أحيانا العب به للتسلية..

لكن ..كلامك أنت و recca يستاهل التفكير ...
يستطيع المبرمجون تغيير نظام اللعبة بحيث تكون مجازفة استعمال الليزر كبيرة..و أضراره قليلة..

لكن لا أعرف لماذا فقط اقتصرت على ديفل جن فقط...؟ هل هو الشخصية الأكثر شعبية في تكن5...؟

محمد... استخدام الليزر في ديفل جين يعتبر مجازفة كبيرة جداً جداً..... والليزر بطيء و99% من الناس اللي تعرف نلعب تقدر تتفادى الليزر بكل سهولة ....والليزر عقابه شديد جداً إذا ما أصاب الخصم
....
لكن ليزر ديفل جين له فايدة خيالية وممتازة جداً وقوية...
وهي انه يقدر يتفادى الضربات اللي مداها عالي ويضرب الليزر على طول...

وانا تكلمت عن ديفل جين لسببين ....
الأول هو أنه من الشخصات اللي شعبيتها كبيرة
والثاني أنه شخصيتي المفضلة :)

الليزر له فوايد كثيرة على فكرة أنا استفيد منها جداً :)

مثلاً إذا واحد قاعد يتفلسف وقاعد يشحن وهو بعيد أضربه على طول باللليزر :)

no i don't mean the advantage frame for this move ...yah it's still 11 for the hit and +5 for block adv.
i mean the frame during the move,input between d/f and 2
Devil Jin can't do f,n,d/f+2 for ewgf. He has to do f,n,d~d/f+2
so maybe they will add more frame to this :)

deviljin if what you are saying is correct then it's true that the EWGF has become more esier to execute ....well personally i think 5 frames to execute a speceail move is way to much....this will make it alot easier and ai mean it....

som of the just frame moves used to be in 1 frame time....

we must wait and see...maybe its only in the beta vr. we have to see for ourselves
