KDE Vs. GNOME

اريد معرفة ما هو الفرق بين نظام KDE و GNOME و ما هو الافضل.

أولا كل من KDE و Gnome يصدر عن فريقين مختلفين :

من الناحية البرمجية KDE تم برمجته أعتمادا على مكتبات QT التي تصدرها شركة Trolltech ( http://www.trolltech.com) .. و KDE مبرمج بإستعمال لغة ++C .. بيئة KDE مرخصة برخصة البرمجيات الحرة GPL ، بينما مكتبات QT ليست كذلك، لكن هناك نسخة مفتوحة المصدر بشروط من QT ..

بينما Gnome يعتمد على مكتبات GTK .. و هو مبني و مصمم بشكل كامل بلغة C .. و هو مرخص برخصة البرمجيات الحرة GPL .. و كذلك مكتبات GTK ..

كلا البيئتين سهلتا التعامل، و كلاهما قابلتات لتغيير الشكل و السمات Themes لأكبر حد و درجة ممكنة ..

بالنسبة لناحية الإستخدام .. فقد أظهرت واجهة KDE تفوقا ملحوظا من حيث سهولة الإستخدام، و دعم أكبر عدد من اللغات ( منها العربية)، و توفير عدد كبير من البرامج التي تأتي مع بيئة KDE .. بينما حافظت Gnome على سمعتها بأنها بيئة عملية و يعتمد عليها، سريعة، و الأكثر ثباتا..

لا يمكن تحديد من الأفضل .. كل منهما الأفضل في مجاله.. إذا كنت مستخدم جديد للينكس، و كنت معتادا على نظام ويندوز و التعامل معه، فإن KDE سيعطيك سهولة في التعامل، لدرجة أنك لن تحس أنك غريب عليه من اليوم الأول...

بينما Gnome هي خيار من هو معتاد على التغيير، و من لا مشكله لديه من التغيير .. Gnome تبقى الخيار الأفضل لكل المبرمجين المخضرمين في لينكس لأنه كان أول واجهة مستخدم حقيقية في لينكس ..

هذا هو رأيي ... و لك الخيار ...

I think that u must say: KDE as a project is not full GPLed, since there are some programs realesed under other licensed like kde artist license.
One important non-GPLed KDE application is kicker (formerly know as kpanel).
Many KDE applications are built useing kdevelop which is GPLed and by default puts GPL license for the application built using it.
I think the most great point in GNOME applications which makes me prefer to run them more than KDE's is the speed as you said. When I open gnome-terminal for example it takes few seconds while konsole take longer time. I know you'll say that the speed differs from one application to application and konsole uses more complicated structure to provide the ability to open new terminals embedded in the same window; but I noticed that in many KDE applications. Take konqueror/Galeon for example.
Last point is that if the user wanna run gnome applications much faster he has to use a lightweight window manager like icewm or Window Maker or just Black Box and run the applications. In this case I've found that Gnome applications run faster than before while KDE applications take the same loading time if I use icewm.

That's my opinion what's your, I like to know.

About gaving the KDE not fully GPLed.. I would say that almost all the essensial parts are under the GPL or a GPL compatable license ..
Regarding Speed .. You are right .. and I did note that point in my reply before .. That speed redandance is due to the differance between thier programming languages .. C and C++ .. C programs are faster that C++ programs ,, that's a known fact .. one other element that causes the speed going down is that KDE is more artistic than Gnome, like the anti-aliasing and several other artistic features ..
I do not bias one over the other .. I currantly use KDE 2.2 , and I am waitless for Gnome 2 to come out .. Gnome and KDE are different flavours .. I like to taste from here and there ...
