A number of things happened
And I cannot quite explain how but
The toast has been burned
The milk has been spilled
The car has been scrateched
A glass in the kitchen was smashed
A bedroom window somehow was broken
The telly was blown to smithereens
The carpet was ruined
And , dear , oh dear
You will not believe this but
The goldfish was swallowed

By the cat , of course
I 'm a vegetarian
