nVidia launched their 7900 series today, the G71. Some reviews:

Basically it benches similarly to, or perhaps a little better than ATi's best in most cases, which is impressive given that the pipeline configuration remains unchanged at 8 vertex pipes and 24 pixel pipes.
There would appear to have been some tweaks to the architecture also, most notably:
- a significant reduction in transistor count, down to 278m transistors from 302m transistors (thus runs cooler, more quietly)
- improved texturing, and reduced texture fetch latency
- Improved ROPs, with better FP16 blending performance & more efficient updates of large rendertargets
- some cache tweaks (they don't elaborate on that)
