i will just talk a little bit about $traceroute command



it is a command of foot printing, that means if u have an IP adress of someone else u can do a detektiv work by tracing the foots(IP'S/HOSTS) of this IP, so where does it come from , the nets that r related to in.
u can try this if u visit the www.netcraft.com ,
just put an ip or a webadress and see what u get!!
in fact this web site use the traceroute application.

there is also a visual prog. for traceroute such as neotrace which plots the IP geographically, that means u can see this IP where it is coming from;whichcountry/city.
