September 13, 2006 - E3 may be no more, but the Tokyo Game Show is still kicking. This year, according to the show's sponsor, the Consumer Entertainment Software Assocation (CESA), over 573 games will be on display. This is far above the previous record of 516 that was set in 2005.
Surprisingly, the PC will have the greatest number of titles at 127. Cell phones will be represented by 125 titles, a ways above the PS2's showing of 100 games. Japan's two hottest systems, the DS and PSP, will have, respectively, 52 and 33 titles. Next generation systems break down as 20 for Xbox 360, 18 for PS3 and 5 for Wii. Closing out the list are Game Boy Advance with 2 titles and Xbox, GameCube and PlayStation with 1 title a piece.
This is just an official CESA list. The actual number of games on display could be much higher, so be sure and devote a good amount of time next week to reading all our coverage. TGS kicks off on the 22nd.
