Asslam Alikum everyone,


Girl with a pearl earring is the name of one of the most beautiful painting I've ever seen. It is by a painter called Vermeer, who lived in the 17th century. He always painted things that are not important, and maybe that is why I love him. For example one of his great paintings called "Milkmaid" and it is simply a maid pouring milk..!!


A book was released on this name "Girl with a pearl earring" and yeah it is about the painting, the book is by Tracy Chevalier. It tells the story of the painting, of course the story is not true but I loved it. In order to enjoy it you have to read it in English. It is one of my favorite books.


The main character is Griet the sixteen years old girl who became a maid after an unfortunate accident that happened to her father. She goes to work with the Vermeer's where her whole life change forever, she was to stay as long as she can clean the painter's studio without moving a thing. The clever girl did her job right and he was pleased. So she stayed and the story goes on. I like the way Tracy treat her characters bringing them to life and giving them real personalities.


Tracy wrote other books but I loved this one the most because I loved the painting.

I realy thought that you gonna talk about the movie!!
you know,the movie...with Scarlet Johanson and all
other than that, I really know nothing about paintings and what comes with it
ah..exept for the Monalisa,some of Kafka's works and that freaky story about the wacky Van Goch ( I bellieve that's his name) cutting off his ear -ouch- and giving it to the love of his life, I guess he was trying to brove something,you know like,take a stand, make your point, be a man and bla,bla,bla...in his own way of course.
that was just freaky if you ask me!!
anyway....sounds like you love this painting

Thanks for passing by and yeah he was gifted although after reading the story I sorts of hated him...! however I think paintings really is a hard work, can you believe that vermer wasn't a very famouse painter and he died on debt...!
