Following Nintendo's claim that Gamecube is the fastest selling new console in the US at the moment, Microsoft are now fighting back with their own claim that Xbox "had the best-selling video game console launch on record after two weeks of sales."
Microsoft go on to say that Xboxes are selling as quickly as they can make them, with over 100,000 systems a week being delivered to retailers.
They also report that gamers are buying an average of 2.4 Xbox games with every Xbox, resulting in the highest game 'attach rate' ever recorded for a console at launch. In comparison, Sony sold 1.9 games with every PS2 during the first two weeks of its launch last year, while Nintendo has sold 1.9 games with every Gamecube to date.
