problom with ubuntu

Hello....

i have a noobie question regarding the linux OS i installed obuntu recentlly and was faced with this problom: after i installed obuntu in my lap top windows vista suddenly dissapeard and i couldnt choose it anymore know tht i instaled it from a CD and choose "Guided-resize SCS13 (0.0.0)partition #1and use free space"when it came to the prepare disk space part did i loose all the data i had in vista or can i save my laptop
id appreciate the help guys....

According to my own experience i noticed that there is a bug in the part you mentioned it , however its might be only buggy to me as for other users whom successfully manged on doing the same steps to get Vista and Ubuntu both togather and they did.

Anyway first relax buddy , your Vista partition is safe and you even can use it under Ubuntu using 'mount' and maybe you will need to use -'f' which means to force mounting your partition
so you could access your files but anyway you could also try to boot from vista cd and fix master boot and others which also might help you
but , Before you start doing that try while you are booting into linux to press ESC which will takes you into Grub boot list and see if you could find 'Windows" or 'Booting anther OS' , if you find one try to select it and see if you manged to make your laptop boots into your Vista
