rinity Universe is a sci-fi fantasy RPG that's set in space. You take control of either the "dog demon" Kanata or the "war goddess" Rizerial and work through two different stories told respectively from the sides of the demons and the goddesses.

Outside of these two characters, Trinity Universe will see appearances by some major characters from Gust and Nippon Ichi lore. Characters like Etna, Prinny, and Fron will appear not in cameo roles, but as primary characters with key roles in the story.

Gameplay appears to offer a mix of conversion and dungeon crawling. The conversation scenes make use of the Active Animation Adventure system, which gives lively animation to character portraits during dialog sequences. Dungeons see the game switch to 3D, with encounter-based, action-oriented battles.
