Judge not according to appearance

Hi all, how is life?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, this means that something or someone is beautiful depending on the person who is looking,
i.e. different people have different ideas about what is beautiful, there are no standard here.

Although we keep saying “don't judge a book by its cover” and “Judge not according to appearance”,
intentionally or unintentionally, the way we treat people is usually affected by looks.

I once wrote an essay about how good-looking people get better treatments almost everywhere they go,
they get free stuff all the time, everybody seems to like them… etc

I’d like to hear your opinion; do you think this is true?

Does the way you look affect how people perceive your competence?

Have you seen anything likes it before? Ever been there?

If you are good-looking, how is it for you?
and
If you think that you are not that good-looking, dose it bothers you? To what extent?

Well, about your requests. I don't know for sure, but it depends mainly on the general environment I think. I did notice however that sometimes (and I said sometimes), dressing neatly or having a good look by nature can give you some access to some exceptions, especially if you are a nonemployed or nonrelated to the institute you are dealing with. n

About myself, I honestly don't know. I neither consider myself a good-looking person or a not-good-looking person, neither did I heard someone talks about how super special awesome my look is; except for my mother of course :P n

As for me, I’m just fine, thanx for asking.

You can say that again, actually, you normally get more respect when you dress nicely.

people typically will treat you differently depending on the way you look,
if not all then many of them will, I’m pretty sure you would’ve notice something.

Actually, the way you talk tells much more about your personality and your background

Still, the way you look plays a part in the way people recognizes you, will they accept you or not?
Usually, for neat people, appearance does matters, they give more respect for well-dressed people.

You see my friend; many agencies for example involve looks as necessity in their employment policies, unfair, don’t you think?

As for the reaction part, well, some may care for looks alone while other care for qualifications
Those who cares for looks only are narrow minded
It wouldn't matter whether they like you or not if looks is all what they care about
