The elders of the village sensed its evil power, and declared that it must be returned to its origin -- Tarim takes up responsibility for that journey

He is gripped by a conflict between the guilt stemming from his humanity and the bloodlust of Soul Edge -- at times, his human nature almost comes to the surface, bringing back terrible memories of his father's murder and the rest of the horrors created by the evil sword. Regardless, his wanderings and struggles continue.

Toki leaves, and Taki follows, deserting her ninja clan, knowing that no good can come of an attempt to grasp Soul Edge.

Thus, Mitsurugi travels abroad to look further into this mystery
