Xbox 360 has 3 3.2Ghz CPUs, each with two threads. 3x2=6. PS3 only has one CPU, with only two threads. Xbox 360 launch games used Pre-Alpha kits; that’s why V-Sync problems weren’t corrected in some rushed launch games. Those pre-alpha kits only allowed developers to have access to ONE of CPUs, and only ONE of the two threads on that CPU!
Xbox 360 and PS3 both received Final Version Development Kits in Summer of 06. Those gave developers access to 100% of available CPU power. This means PS3 launch games had access to Final Development Kits for 6 MONTHS!
PS3 had its launch delayed BIGTIME, which helped developers with Final Development kits, but Xbox 360 had its launch rushed, which only gave developers access to the Pre-Alpha kits. Even after that, the Xbox 360 developers still were using Pre-Alpha development kits until the summer of 2006.
Xbox 360 saw such a HUGE improvement when games like Gears of War were released after Summer 06; they had access to the Final Development kit for the same amount of time as the PS3 games did.
Any developer who now has a Final Development kit now has the ability to make a game with no V-Sync problem.وشكراً

البلاي ستيشن 3 له فقط نواتين لكن له من الوحدات الأخرى ما يجعل المعالج يعمل وكأنه 9 كورز cores او threads
من ويكيبيديا:
اقتباس:
The PPE core is dual threaded and manifests in software as two independent threads of execution while each active SPE manifests as a single thread. In the PlayStation 3 configuration as described by Sony, the Cell processor provides nine independent threads of execution.

إذاً 9 أنوية ......هذا يجعل المعالج ثوري بالنسبة لكثير من المعالجات الحالية من إنتل و AMD

Oblivion: Downgraded for PS3, not happening on Wii

When we learned that the PS3 version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion would not feature the majority of downloadable content found on the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game, it was a blow to fans of horse armor everywhere. An episode of The 1UP Show (02/02) provides the follow-up hook as 1UP relays a juicy bit of info from Bethesda. As it turns out, it may be due to a memory limitation with the Playstation 3 itself.
1UP says that Bethesda simply could not find a way to load every piece of downloadable content without affecting the performance of the game. Considering that the Xbox 360 can pull off this feat without a hitch, that seems quite odd. Bethesda will still be looking into getting that content available for PS3 users, as addressed by their VP of Marketing, Peter Hines, who also comments on the "rumors" regarding the memory issue in an IGN interview.
As for the PS3 version of Oblivion trumping the 360 in the visuals department, it just so happens that the new shader techniques applied to the PS3 will also be worked into the 360 version of the game. And thus, they are equals once more. Unless you want some horse armor. In which case, you're boned.
Finally, Shacknews sat down with Pete Hines and questioned their plans beyond the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. When it comes to waggling your remote in Oblivion, "It's not really going to run on a Wii for example, but if it could we would put it there. Our philosophy is to make a game and make it available to as many people as possible."

[Thanks, Stephen!]
[Update - We swapped out the Mark Rein quote with the more recent IGN interview to pull the feedback away from gritty, armchair analysis of tech specs and back into the content involved. Cleaned up some wording to not sound so definitive on a complex and unresolved issue. Thanks!] المصدر:http://www.joystiq.com/2007/02/10/ob...pening-on-wii/

Oblivion Rumors Explained
We get down to the bottom of the recent Oblivion rumors
.
by
Jeff Haynes
February 8, 2007 - When we posted our preview of
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, we talked about the various improvements that had been made to the PS3 version, such as the optimized load times and enhanced graphical presentation thanks to new pixel shaders that displayed sharper details. We also pointed out that while the Knights of the Nine side quest would be included, other downloadable content would not initially be included in the game. Needless to say, this information spawned a host of rumors on the boards and across the Internet. To separate the fact from the fiction about Oblivion on the PS3, we went directly to Pete Hines, the VP of Public Relations and Marketing at Bethesda Softworks for the true details behind the game.
Rumors were rampant about the reasons behind the lack of downloadable content. Other websites have reported that the justification behind the missing missions and features was due to technical limitations of the console. According to Hines, nothing could be farther from the truth. There were two specific reasons behind why items like the Orrery and Mehrunes's Razor will not be included within the PS3 version of the game. First of all, there was a concern about the balancing of the game and initially giving players access to a thieves den or a wizard's tower immediately at the start of the game. "There was no good way to incorporate these features into the game as soon as it started because it didn't make sense," Hines said. While he didn't rule out the possibility of some of these side quests or features making it into the game, it wouldn't necessarily be as soon as the game hit store shelves.
In fact, the other reason why the downloadable content for the PS3 version of the game isn't included isn't solely because of the technical limitations of the system. Instead, it's because the designers haven't actually tested the PlayStation Network Store and the mechanisms for delivering content to systems. Considering that the development team has been spending a large amount of time making sure that the game transitions over to the PS3 well without the numerous bugs or glitches that plagued the PC and 360 versions of the game, working on the store was definitely a low priority on their list when it came to dedicating additional resources to that feature. But it is being worked on, and it will be coming at a later date.
So what about the shaders or optimizations? Rumors were released stating that everything in the PS3 version of the game would migrate over to the 360 or the PC, which kicked off a screaming match on boards about which version was ultimately better. According to Hines, the shader functionality that would re-render the low-res textures would inevitably make its way to the 360 build and PC in future updates. However, certain optimizations that take advantage of the system's hardware will remain exclusive to the PS3 version of the game.
