^^ People kite this but takes hrs as I heard from some people
and yeah it is difficult to solo if not kite but everything has a trick

It is really not that hard for a good and well geared DNC or RDM to solo almost anything these days
Just takes time
I wanna solo a UFO on blm next
it is something I'm planing to do in the future

Takes full pts sometimes to kill it and hits too hard
but you're smart you noticed the trick I was talking about
it has a job ability called
Reaving Wind
It is a knockback shield ability which if he hits, you will be taken
away from that spot to the end of the map maybe lol
and you will die 'cause the area is full of high level mobs
and he can push you all the way back to them
so I simply let the NM face a different direction at the same time
I attack it from the back leaving a wall behind me
so the NM can't push me away
Also, I can avoid some horrible TP moves
I also use WS 'cause saving TP is useless since it can take all TP to 0 + amessia
I just use NFR and FD so I can take enough TP to make the new steps again
It has horrible magic moves too + Silence
but I keep -Magical set with me
on the video I switch the earring to - magical
I know when it uses the magic moves after few fights

Finally got my DNC to 75, and ready to take on some harder things as soon as I'm done with merits.
Do you have any suggestions for the direction I should be taking with the merits? I'm forced to max haste samba for Merit/Dynamis/Einharjar purposes(lucky my LS is open minded to DNC in events) but other than that I want my DNC to be a solo machine.
Also, I have no access to Etoile Casque atm, do you think I should work on getting that before bothering with soloing all together?

You do not need the AFs to solo on dancer but they help a lot
You will need the AFs of course, sadly unlike many jobs your AFs+1 could be the best gear on this game for a dancer because we do not wear King things or Salvage
So yeah work on the AFs because you will need them
Dancer's Tiara; you need it for making sambas last longer = you safe more TP
Dancer's Casaque and AF2 head for healing
Dancer's Bangles for solo/kite or on HNMs and high EVA NMs
It helps with the steps even with merit pts; get the AF+1 of them
Etoile Casaque makes your stun land better and important for some NMs
Etoile Tights is the best legs on the game for a dancer and you should get the +1 of it
DNC merits===
errrr do not ask !!!!
You asked me a hard question - there is no bad/good merits on DNC; all depends on what you want to use this job for
You should be aware that if you wanna take your DNC for events then you should be working on your DD merits, and if you merit the DD merits you lose the max tanking merit for soloing
There is just too many good things to merit on DNC and that is the problem; you need to think a lot on your goal of the job
Most pro Dancers merit the job like this:
5/5 Closed Position
Max ACC/EVA good for soloing and merit pts or events
3/5 NFR
If you merit more than 3 it is a waste becasue you need 3 + step to make them five so does not matter
1/5 For both F&S Dance
FD of course is helpful
with this setup you will solo pretty good better than NIN and you will hit the max EVA if you have already 4/4 EVA then you have every other thing ready to use like FD with 1 merit can help you once you are in danger
Now notice this is an EVA setup; and you can use FD every five min. you need to know you can't avoid more than 80% of the mob hits and some NMs will still 1-shot you like AG. With all of max EVA gear on the game I could not kill it I have 5/5 FD and that is the only way to kill this and tank high HNMs on dancer
FD acts like convert for a RDM; the shorter time you can use it again the more TP you safe (less-healing) and the more chances that you can live (less-DMG) and it is up for you in the end to go 5 on FD or 5 on CP; nothing is better than the other just go for what you like better: 5/5 on them both could make you the best soloer but again you leave NFR and SD behind so your dnc is no good for events or some kite NMs like Boompadu
I went for Haste Sampa and RFE 5/5 on Group 1 too
Thoguh for max solo we should go for building flourish effect 'cause it is the only way we can solo KA or Behemoth
