A group has managed to collect enough donations to buy an Xbox 360 in order to destroy it. The 'social experiment,' carried out by www.smashmyxbox.com, involved filming its destruction with a hammer in front of queuing fans.
The people behind the 360 slaying were inspired by their earlier successful campaign to waste an iPod - also paid for by others - in the same way, and the shots to the right show they gave Microsoft's new machine no mercy.
The images were taken on a camera phone, and judging from the resolution it's quite a nice one. The group has not yet offered to smash its phones with a hammer; or with an Xbox or iPod, for that matter.
