The latest upgrade to the i-mate™ Pocket PC is now available for download. It includes Bluetooth and battery life enhancements, the latest fixes from Microsoft and the latest radio version.
The upgrade will erase all existing information on your device. It is strongly recommended that you synchronise your Contacts, Callender, Mail and Tasks to your PC before upgrading your device. On synchronization, hard reset the device (Press the Power ON button and perform a soft reset simultaneously to hard reset)

The upgrade is performed in two parts. Firstly upgrade the Operating System and Radio of the device as shown in Step 1. Then apply the customization to populate the device with your regional settings and new version of the software applications, like MMS.
Once you have completed both the steps of the upgrade, synchronize your i-mate™ Pocket PC with your desktop PC again, to restore your synchronized Contacts, Calendar, Mail and Tasks.
Firstly please install Microsoft ActiveSync 3.7.1 on your PC. This can be found on the CD-ROM that came with the i-mate™ Pocket PC or can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile. Follow the on screen instructions. Then connect your i-mate™ Pocket PC to your PC with the USB Cable connected directly to the PC, not through a USB Hub.
Step 1:
Download the ROM upgrade file to your desktop PC. This file is approximately 25Mb in size. click here for html download of RUU172126WWE_imate.exe. With your i-mate™ Pocket PC synchronized run RUU172126WWE_imate.exe on your PC. Follow the on-screen instructions. After all the 5 steps of the upgrade you will get a Congratulations! screen. Disconnect your Pocket PC and hard reset it. Perform the initial setup and then reconnect the device to the desktop via ActiveSync.Step 2:
Download the Ext. ROM upgrade file to your desktop PC. Please note that the second step involves the language customization and other features and fixes for the Extended ROM. Hence it is recommended that you perform both the steps of the upgrade. There are two language options available: Click here English version i.e. RUU172800WWE_CDL_SKU1.exe. Click here to download the English version with Arabic Support i.e. RUU172810WWE_CDL_SKU2.exe.The file is approximately 6Mb in size. With your i-mate™ Pocket PC synchronized unzip and run the downloaded upgrade file. Follow the on-screen instructions. On completion of the upgrade, you will get a Congratulations! screen. Disconnect your Pocket PC and hard reset it. Perform the initial setup and then reconnect the device to the desktop via ActiveSync.Restore your data via ActiveSync. If you are restoring your data from an older version of the device and experience a warning message when soft resetting your device, Click here to download RestoreCleanUp.zip (44kb). This file is approximately 44kb in size. With your i-mate™ Pocket PC synchronized unzip and run RestoreCleanUp.exe on your PC. This will correct the issue without changing your data.
