The director of this second installment is very close to the fans and this in turn also ask for suggestions of actresses for certain roles in the film, as he did months ago and reveals new details of what you have in mind for this new project.
Emphasizes that what he wants is to make a good film, read on to learn more.
Q: At what age did you choose your career?
Bassett: I started as a photographer and director of documentaries on wildlife as a teenager. It was not until I was 20 years I decided I wanted to make films. So I guess I started at that time.
Q: What items do Silent Hill 3 a fascinating game to your criteria?
Bassett: The first time I finished the game was more interested in the scares and the freak in general. Visual effects, sound management, the atmosphere and in fact I paid no attention to the details of the story. Only later replayed and trying to understand the stories in the SH universe, I could see the depth of detail and creativity in these games. No doubt I have renewed my respect for all those involved in franchising.
Q: Will keep clothes Heather as he was in the game?
Bassett: No final decisions have been taken on the garb of Heather. Obviously the character has already established an iconic look at not I will get to change it if not for good reason. I have a great costume designer in charge so it will be a matter of talking to her about all this during the year. Must have attitude too, not just look good and all this will also depend on the casting. Everything supports everything else.
Q: Are you going to rely more on plot and characters and more action and effects?
Bassett: The characters and plot are very important to me. But would be good effects and action as well.
Q: Are there elements of each of the games or you just Basaras in the third?
Bassett: The core argument, only the third game. Maybe add a few new things also, and more of the other titles.
Q: They made costumes of the monsters? Does your team believes that using prosthesis is the way forward for the design of the creatures in this film?
Bassett: Not yet. I will try to use that approach where possible.
Q: Are you taking inspiration from other films or directors?
Bassett: I do not watch other movies for inspiration for my own films. I look at photographs, art, comic books, read books, I sit in the cafes and watch the world go by and watch almost any art form different from mine. Otherwise I'll just be copying someone. Obviously, I've seen thousands of movies and music videos in recent years and some things inevitably emerge from my subconscious - there are a melting pot.
Q: Will we hear the siren back in the second movie? "
Bassett: Almost certainly.
Q: How many minutes of film will be? ("120min. As the first?) Or about 3 hours to epic style of Lord of the Ring?
Bassett: not last much. I like my movies short and catching. It is impossible to say for sure right now ... A film should last as he needed. Many films that I feel them too long, bear with me. But a good film does not feel too long or too short. Appointments The example confirms the rule (apart from Inglorious Bastards, which seemed a bit long, but gave no importance anyway) is not something solely for his epic work time is for the scale that is and ambition.
Q. How far along is the project? Does the film still lacks several months?
Bassett: We advance far enough. Yes
Q: Is there a battle with bosses in the movie? As Leonard, the father of Claudia, or the monster who killed Harry Mason.
Bassett: I do not want to reveal anything ... but I could say something similar in history.
Q: Will you fight Heather? (With firearms, steel pipes ...)
Bassett, Heather will behave according to the needs of situation and the wishes of his temperament. If the fight is necessary, then so be it.
Q: Have you decided who'll be the composer?
Bassett: No
Q: The film opens in 2011 or 2012?
Bassett: I have no idea. The moment the movie is published is not my business.
Q: How old were you creating this great script for Silent Hill Revelation?
Bassett: The script is constantly evolving, even now. I started about 10 months. And it's not over until the final assembly takes place.
Q: Will we soon adverts in the media or a poster of your film?
Bassett: No nothing like that for a while. It's not really something that I occupy.
Q: Is it your intention to have some players back, or you are avoiding things together?
Bassett: Some characters return. As for the casting - everything is possible.
Q: Have you spoken / speak to Gans on the script? Is there a cosmetic change from the world of mist Gans and the "alternate world" we see in Revelation?
Bassett: I can not really go into details ... I talked to Christophe. I told him what I thought. Suffice to say that cosmetic changes will be unavoidable, simply because I see things differently from Christophe and the film reflects (for better or for worse) is my feeling with and interpretation of that world.
Q: Do you think that in future it can repair the damage that was done with many adaptations of video games that have marred the reputation of many games and above all, have made such adjustments are about to cease to exist in movies?
Basset: I think the answer to the most credible film adaptations is to try to make good films. Silent Hill Revelation is primarily a film and in the background, a videogame adaptation. Everything else just does not make sense to me. I say this only because it is important does not mean that my film is going to be good. I just want to say that with the best intentions of making something of quality.
The poster that adorns the entrance is fanmade.
