يهبط Tiamat بالقرب من Xion

Tiamat:
Xion! Where in on Terra have you been?

Xion:
I was enjoying the moment, Tiamat. is something wrong?

Tiamat:
Well, you're late for the party.

Xion:
What party?!

Tiamat:
Have you forgotten?! Today is your birthday!

Xion:
MY BIRTHDAY?! Why didn't you say so? Let's go!

Xion rides on Tiamat's back
Tiamat flies towards the palace

Tiamat:
I don't blame you for forgetting about the party, you never actually had one.

Xion:
Yeah, the war took a lot of things away from us

Tiamat:
By the way, what were you doing back there?

Xion: I just wanted to take a look around

Tiamat:
So?

Xion:
Tiamat, It was a beautiful sight

Tiamat (sarcasticly):
Crumbled buildings? Cripples? Stuff like that?

Xion:
Tiamat, I'm serious. For the first time, I could see people walking around, smiling, happy....and feeling safe

Tiamat:
Hmmm... It is a beautiful sight


Xion and Tiamat arrive at the Royal Palace

Hey man that's gotta be cool, kinda like RPG games, and the best thing I like that you made the characters talk not the writer of the story talk, it's better for me!? I like this style more, keep the good works up man...

Xion and Tiamat arrive at the Royal Palace....
On their way in, they find Kuja

Kuja:
Happy Birthday, you two!

Tiamat:
Whaddaya mean (you two)? what th---:! ooops:":

Xion:
Looks like I'm not the only one who forgot his birthday, heh heh

Tiamat:
Yeah, yeah whatEVER

Kuja:
C'mon! it's about time

they enter the main hall, up the elevator then to the celebration room

enter Xion, Kuja and Tiamat
in the room was Elmador, Sephiroth, Johnny, Cloud, Ky, Ayane, Lilith and Rufus

All:
HAPPY BIRTHDAY XION AND TIAMAT!!!

Xion:
Thanks guys! um... where's Zero?

Johnny:
He's on his way here from the sky base

Xion:
Sky base?! think he can make it on time?

Johnny:
Well, no. he left the base a few minutes ago

suddenly, a large screen flickers on, and Zero's image appears

Zero:
Hi guys! Is the star of the party there?

Xion:
Hi Zero! Where are you

Zero:
First of all: Happy Birthday, Xion and Tiamat. Right now I'm flying over Gyrock mountains, but don't worry, with the Ragnarok, I'll be there in about....20 minutes. Anyways, don't wait for me to cut the cake, okay?

Xion:
Okay, but hurry up so you can catch the rest of the party!

Zero:
Well guys, C ya.

the monitor flickers off

The celebration room...
6:30pm

they turned the lights out, and sang the usual "Happy birthday" song

Sephiroth:
Make a wish, Xion.

Xion:
Hmmm... I wish....I wish....C'mon, think....aha! I wish we would never have to fight again

Sephiroth:
That's not like you, Xion. heh heh. well, c'mon, blow the candles

Xion:
Here goes!

In the split second Xion blew out the candles, Rufus's cell phone rang with an eerie chime

Rufus:
I...I'll be right back

Rufus tried to keep a smile on his face but as he left the room his face turned into a mixture of surprize and fright, the cell phone was actually a security alarm, and that specific chime was for maximum security breach

Rufus rushes to his lab and finds it in chaos, the alarms were on but no sign of breaking in
he finds his assistant, Rose

Rufus:
Rose! What happened?!

Rose:
I don't know, it's like the security system has gone haywire!

Rufus:
What do you mean?!

Rose:
Well, the system shows maximum breach and code RED somewhere near your private lab, but it's uncharted, and on top of that all the other areas are completely normal. I don't know what to make out of all this

Rufus's face darkens, he can no longer hide his expessions

Rufus:
Rose....Come with me, this is a serious matter

Rufus takes Rose to his private lab
He heads for his desk and presses a hidden button
then one of the super-computers starts moving out of place...

Rose:
A secret door!!!

Rufus:
Yes, it leads to my father's secret lab, and that's where the alarm is coming from

Rose:
I never knew it even existed

Rufus:
No one ever did, besides, I've never been inside yet and I don't what's in there, so we'd better watch our backs

Rose:
Well, how do we get in?

Rufus reaches behind the computer and takes a couple of cards hidden behind it. He hands one of them over to Rose

Rufus:
Here, see those card swipes? we're to use them both at the same time

Rufus and Rose place their cards on the card swipes

Rufus:
On three....One..Two....THREE!

The secret door starts moving slowly. a warm breeze comes out along with some dust. when the door was fully open, they saw nothing but darkness

Rose:
It's too dark to see anything

Rufus:
Alright, there is a flashlight and a pistol inside my desk, go get 'em

Rose gets the light and the pistol and hands the pistol to Rufus

Rufus:
Let's go!

Rufus and Rose entered the dark corridor

Rose:
Sure is creepy

Rufus:
It seems like it has been sealed off for a very long time, long before my father died

Rose:
Dr. Rufus! I see a light in the distance!

Rufus:
Let's check it out!

Rufus and Rose walk carfully towards the light while avoiding numerous pipes and wirings
Finally, they made it to the light

Rufus:
Hmmm.... an airlock

To their right, there was a switch

Rufus:
Well, let's do it

Rufus activates the switch

the airlock opens slowly....

Rufus and Rose finally made it to the other side of the airlock
It was a large room full of exprimental machinery, on one side there was another door, but the most thing that caght thier sight was a gigantic container in the far side of the room
The conitainer was made of steel and nearly five stories tall. It was also half buried in a huge well about 15-m in diameter
In front of the huge container was a control panel. The screen was red and it read "EMERGENCY: BIOORGANIC DEEP FREEZE INCUBATOR LEAKAGE DETECTED" below it was the words "enter password"

Rufus:
What the HELL IS THIS?!

He walks towards the panel

Rufus:
Enter password, eh?

Rose:
What should we do?

Rufus:
Well, we gotta enter the password to get to the bottom of this

Rose:
Do we have one?

Rufus:
No, but let me think, what would father use for a password?

Rose:
Didn't he tell you anything before he died?

Rufus:
Hmmm....now that you mentioned it..... I remember him telling me to read a book called "The Shadows within", sounds crazy, but I think I'm gonna try something out

Rufus types the word: SHADOW

The outer compartment of the container started moving downwards deep into the well, while a central compartment started to rise producing a lot of fog and mist, through the mist, a ghostly image of a broken glass container could be seen, on top of it was a winged creature

Rose (whispering):
What's that?!

Rufus (whispering):
Hell if I know!

Through the fog, they could hear a voice

"uuhnn"

It's alive!!

The fog cleared slowly revealing a white haired human being with
large black and violet wings
the creature rose his head

Rufus and Rose:
AAAAAH!!!

Indeed it was shocking sight, the man looked exactly like Xion, only he had crimson red eyes!!!

???? :
Thank you for releasing me, human

Rufus:
Who are you?! better yet, WHAT are you?!

???? :
I am Shadow, the one and only ultimate lifeform, or at least that's what Dr. Hojo called me

Rufus:
My father?

Shadow:
Hmmm, so you are his son

Rufus:
What are you doing here?

Shadow:
It was your father who sealed me in here, he said that I was too dangerous to be left free

Rose:
Too dangerous?

Shadow:
Allow me to demonstrate, he he he!!!

Shadow's eyes began to shine in crimson red and gave an evil smile

Rufus:
GET OUT OF HERE, ROSE!!

Rufus and Rose raced towards the exit and up the corridor as fast as they could while Shadow's evil laugh echoed in the distance...
