Rumors of the Season 2 DVD Release are greatly exaggerated
If you’ve been watching Season 2 on HBO2 on Saturday nights, you may have noticed at the end of last week’s episode an announcement was made about the immediate availability of the Season 2 DVD. The message boards were a-buzz with eager fans hoping to find verification. It’s safe to assume HBO’s customer service line was besieged as well, with questions on where to find the much-awaited release. On Monday, November 14, Dan Knauf put the rumors to rest, stating the DVDs have not yet been released.
Next rumor? Netflix has listed they will be available as of 02/2006.MediaVillage has heard that HBO is seriously considering developing a two hour movie or a four-hour miniseries that would tie up the tantalizing loose ends from the final episode of its supernatural dust-bowl drama Carnivale. The new production would be telecast sometime in 2007. Further, if that movie or mini does well, MediaVillage has been told the pay cable giant might even consider resurrecting the franchise as an ongoing series in 2008.
