The story is one of id's better ones, but that's not saying much. The marine chatter brings cohesion. The deliberate gore factor hits 11.
8.5 Graphics
The Doom engine shows off excellent lighting, shadows, and reflections; crisp high-res polygons, and very generic marine design. Unfortunately, these marines really all DO look alike.
8.0 Sound
It's like Doom only with squishy, gooey sounds of puncturing flesh, ethereal industrial sounds mixed with cries and heavy breathing, Good stuff.
8.0 Gameplay
The single-player campaign is 11 or so hours, and the level variety is likeable. The second half of the game picks up with smarter more aggresive AI, making up for the first half's dull delivery.
8.5 Lasting Appeal
The 11-hour single-player campaign doesn't have too much replay value on its own, but the multiplayer off and online is fast-paced and long-lasting. Potentially big on Xbox Live.
8.1 OVERALL

Porn-Inspired tracks !? LoL !
Enjoyable mission mode, albeit on the short side. The co-op play is brilliant in some areas, typical in others. Multiplayer battles are where PDZ will have its biggest draw.
Amazingly rich environments that are the best seen, so far, on the Xbox 360. The art style of the character models are a bit too cartoony and don’t match the overall tone of the game. Solid framerate aside from some of the vehicle battles.
A mixed-bag of trippy and porn-inspired tracks. In some missions, it seems to fit perfectly, while others you’ll be moving to the custom soundtracks. The dialogue and voice acting presentation is as cheesy as a block of Gouda. The use of Dolby 5.1 enhances the immersion and assists the gameplay.
Expect about 10 hours on the Secret Agent mode, but with two additional difficulty levels and co-op play, the mission mode has the goods. The multiplayer modes will ensure that this is the most popular 360 game online for some time.
The co-op mode shows flashes of brilliance, and the number of options provided for online play is astounding. The core game plays much like any other FPS – a VERY pretty one at that.
