Introduction
------------
The Dark Aeons are an integral part of FFX:I, so you can't find them in the
original version of Final Fantasy X. They are very hard creatures to defeat:
high HP, High Attack Power, High Defense and they are immune to any status
ailments and Auron's Break attacks. If you are not trained well, don't even
think about fighting those creatures as they are your own aeons on the dark
side. Once you are confident enough, get ready for the fight of your life...
Dark Aeon : Valefor
-------------------
Location : Go to the entrance of Besaid Village to find a summoner who will
block the path.
Statistics :

AP : 10,000
Items : Dark Matter x2
Steal : X-Potion
Main Attack : Energy Blast - Deals 20,000 HP of damage.
As the battle begins, use Tidus to cast Hastega on your party and be sure to
have the Haste status on everybody from the beginning to the end of the
fight. If you aren't strong enough, be sure to use Auto-Life on your party
as is Overdrives will most likely have the best of your party. Be sure to
use Entrust and give your Overdrive Gauge to Wakka has he is the one who has
the most powerful Overdrive. Once you have it, be sure to use it on Valefor.
Be on the defensive and attack only with Wakka.
Dark Aeon : Ifrit
-----------------
Location : Go to the entrance of Al Bhed Home. You will find a man there who
will request your help to find his lost daughter. Agree to help
him and look by the cliff.

Steal : Mega Phoenix
Main Attack : HellFire - Deals 60,000 HP of damage
Be sure to be on the defensive again for this battle. Don't take any
unnecessary risks because Ifrit is stronger than you. Again, be sure to use
Hastega, Auto-Life, Protect and Shell on all of your characters at all time.
Be sure to equip an armor with a Fire Protection ability as Ifrit will use
Fire on you. Use your most powerful Overdrives : Wakka's Attack Reel and
Tidus' Blitz Ace. This should do a lot of damage on him. After a long and
tough battle, you should be victorious.
Dark Aeon : Ixion
-----------------
Location : Go to the Agency at the Thunder Plains. Head north to find a
soldier. Talk to him and he will call out a summoner.

Steal : Stamina Tablet
Main Attack : Thor's Hammer - Deals 45,000 HP of damage
Keep in mind that you have to fight this Aeon two times. Start the battle
with Auto-Life and Hastega. Having armors protected against lightning is not
a bad thing either. Don't be afraid of his Overdrive for the first battle.
He will only cast Aerospark which can cause high HP damage on one character.
Once you have defeated him once, his Overdrive will be Thor's Hammer, so
when he got his Overdrive, bring an Aeon to take the damage. Be sure to use
your Overdrives and use Entrust on Wakka. Be sure to have Auto-Life and
Hastega on every members at all time. After a while he will go down and you
will be victorious.
Dark Aeon : Shiva
-----------------
Location : Go to Macalania Temple. At the entrance, a guard will block you
and he will summon the Dark Aeon.

Main Attack : Diamond Dust - Deals 30,000 HP of damage

Again, be on the defensive from the beginning to the end of the fight. Cast
Hastega, Protect and Shell. Again, use Entrust on Wakka to give him is

Dark Aeon : Bahamut

For this fight, you got to be more than on the defensive. Auto-Life is a
NECESSITY for this battle. Once Bahamut's Overdrive gauge is full, he will
cast Impulse and Mega Flare and it is very tough to survive that. Once this
very important detail is done, cast Hastega, Protect and Shell on the party
and use the same strategies as in the previous battles. Is High HP will make
this fight very long so be prepared.
Dark Aeon : Yojimbo

Location : Go to the Cavern of the Stolen Faith and where you have met
Yojimbo, attempt to exit the area to fight a Summoner. You have
to fight him a lot of times before you get to the entrance of the
cave.

Main Attack : Zanmoto - Instant Death on all the party members
As you may have already found out, you must use Auto-Life in this battle, as
well as Hastega and Protect. Once he got is Overdrive be sure to have Yuna
in your party and make her summon an Aeon to block Yojimbo's Zanmoto. If you
don't do that, his Zanmoto attack will kill every members of your party and
even Auto-Life won't be able to bring you up. Again, use Wakka's Attack
Reels to save the day.
Dark Aeon : Anima
-----------------
Location : Head to Mt. Gagazet Cave and replay the ball challenge with
Wakka, then head to the gate of Mt. Gagazet.

Steal : Three Stars
Main Attack : Mega-Gravition - 80,000+ HP of Damage
Don't be too discouraged about Anima's High HP. Be sure to have Hastega and
Auto-Life at all time in this fight. Again, summon an Aeon when Anima gets
is Overdrive, because if you don't, the result of the fight will be Game
Over. Use Entrust on Wakka and Tidus to fill their Overdrive Gauge, then use
them on Anima. Get ready to face Mega-Gravition and Pain from Anima.
Mega-Graviton deals high HP of damage plus bad status effects like Sleep,
Silence and Curse. Pain can kill a character with one blow, so this is why
you need to have Auto-Life for this battle. After a long and painful fight,
Anima should go down.
Dark Aeon : The Magus Sisters
-----------------------------
Location : Go to the end of Mi'Ihen High Road, near Mushroom Rock to find
two summoners.

Sandy - 2,500,000 approx.
Cindy - 3,000,000 approx.
AP : 30,000
Items : Dark Matter x2, Master Sphere
Steal : Teleport Sphere, Friend Sphere, Return Sphere
Main Attack : Delta Attack - Game Over
The Magus Sisters starts the battle with their Overdrives. That means that
they can use their Delta Attack. So use Yuna and summon an Aeon to save you
from the Delta Attack. Now, concentrate your attacks on one of the Magus
Sisters, I chose Mindy because of her low HP. Use Wakka and his Attack Reels
to kill her quickly. Her death prevents the Delta Attack. Now that the main
danger is gone, cast Auto-Life and Hastega on your party and use the same
strategy as the other battle to end this battle quickly. Once you know how
to defeat them, it is pretty easy. Be sure to watch out for the Sisters'
instant death attacks.
Penance
-------
Location : Once you have defeated all the Dark Aeons, head inside your
airship and select a destination on the world map...

Steal : Elixir
Main Attacks : Obliteration - 30,000+ HP of Damage
Tetra-Gravitation - 99,999 HP on all characters
The toughest boss of this quest. Be sure to get rid of the left arm first
since it will cast Tetra-Gravitation and you don't want that. Keep in mind
that is arms WILL regenerate after a while, so be sure to keep Wakka ready
with an Attack Reel. Again, be sure to use Hastega, Auto-Life and Protect.
Counter the right arm's Mighty Guard with Dispel, because you don't want the
body to be protected. Once the two arms are gone, unleash all your attacks
on the body. Take that precious time to hurt him since he will regenerate
his arms pretty soon. Repeat the process to put an end to this boss and take
the precious 100,000 AP with you!
