i would like to ask about the inernet connection that you are using in playing cs over the internet

and if you ever try to play online using dail up connection

plz if you can give us some information about

1. your internet connection speed and type ( adsl or dail up or satalite )
2. do you have any problem in playing games over the internet
3. did you try to play in steam servers or in international server for games, is it working
4. and if any one can give us minimum Requirements it will be helpfull

well .. 56K dail up user here . and my opinion or my experience is ...

hell no i can't play CS with a 56K dail up modem , my head will be an easy target to rise other ppl scores

as an ex-satalite user ... well not just me , any sat user can't play online games at all , ping will be crazy high and unplayable

can i ask why u asking this and who is"us" ?

No problem about the English mate , and here's my answers to your questions :-

1-Iam using ADSL connection from Saudi Net to play games online souch as CSS, by the way you can't play over the internet using satalite connection because of the latency (5Seconds = 5000 ping ).

2-I don't have any problem playing over the internet and of course the closer the server to you the better ( less ping ).

3-Iam always playing CSS in a foreign servers because they're up 24/7 and about the ping usually UK servers ping is about ( 178 - 247 ) and iam using 256KB/s DSL connection.

4-I didn't get , you want the requirment for what exactly ?? tell me and i'll answer you as fast as i can.

one last thing i have a lot of friends who's playing CSS in local servers such as SGN & SGS using only a dial-up connection.

Thank you man ,you helped me a lot , you have given me the information I wanted

the min requirement I talked about , I mean for the connection

( what is the minimum connection speed I can play with ) ( is it 64 or 128 or 256 ) and what the ping level for each ?

what is the maximum distance ( which international server is best for us in Saudi Arabia )?

what is the minimum hardware req for playing online if there are any ?

and any information that you know about playing css online

as I thought it is impossible to play css online by satellite connection because of the ping …

and I think we have to think adsl , but which speed ….?

And I wrote this topic not for me but for any player want to play online !

So plz if you have more information it will be helpful for me and for other people

And if any one can translate this in Arabic so other members can join us that will be very nice

But u did not say if u are playing online or not ?

i played CS on my dail up connection and it's was bad experience, lag killing the fun , any FPS game is unplayable on dail up even on local servers ..

same thing on strategy games since there is no local servers for any game yet it's kinda also unplayable with dial up

the only games i play online is the MMORPG games like FFXI-Lineage 2 -EVERQUEST 2 it's work great even on dial up connections
