Problem with fedora 2

Dear brothers

I have installed fedora 2 and every thing going OK, the modem is working fine and I am able to get connection but I cannot browse any web site, it seems to me there is something blocking me from browsing I don’t know what it is. I have to say that I was having Mandrak 10 and I was able to browse the internet. Please brothers help me OR I will go back to WINDOWS

add ur dns to /etc/resolv.conf
like this: nameserver xx.xx.xx.xx

first you have to get your dns ips from your ISP and they are usually 2 ips.
second there is a file named resolv.conf, u gonna find it on /etc .
open it and add these 2 lines:
nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx = ur dsn ip.

btw you have to be a root when you want to edit the file.
just do su - in your console.

you can get it from your ISP"the company that you get your intrnet from" contact them and tell them that u want the dns ips.

Well brother m_hamad in my setup with windows XP and also from Mandrake 10 I don’t need to enter these numbers I can get accesses to the internet directly. I have read in the internet this problem has something to do with ENC, really I don’t know what this mean if you have any idea about it pleas share it with us

Brother m_hamad I think you are completely right and this is due to a bug in Fedora..any way I have deleted it and installed Mandrake official 10 which is now available for free from their web site and the first impression is that it is better than the community version in supporting Arabic language

هنا خطأين

Brother m_hamad I think you are completely right and this is due to a bug in Fedora..any way I have deleted it and installed Mandrake official 10 which is now available for free from their web site and the first impression is that it is better than the community version in supporting Arabic language

واعمل الفايرول LOW
او متوسط
