Bassim Abbas Became A Cowboy With An Iraqi Flavor
Perth Exclusive - After witnessing the excitement of the rodeo, Saad Nassir, Emad Ouda, Haitham Kadhum, Bassim Abbas, and Nassir Talaa went over to the other side of the rodeo to take part but only Bassim and Nassir had what it takes to stand on an aggressive bull. With all the big support from the fans for the two Iraqi boys Nassir Talaa stepped up comfortably to be placed on top of the bull and open the gates and run the show, but he only managed to stand on the bull for 2 seconds before the bull put him on the ground. Bassim Abbas gave his will (sarcastic) to Nazar Ashraf over the microphone which entertained the Iraqi crowd especially the funny words Bassim used to add a sence of homour to it. The gates were opened for Bassim who only managed to stay on top of the bull for 3.5 seconds but won the competition as his time was longer than Nassir Talaa. The organizers of the event handed over a present to Bassim, and after that the crowd gave their loud cheer in appreciation and said their good bye to the Iraqi national team"
A Memorable Visit to The Rodeo
Perth Exclusive - The Iraqi national team's last stop during their Perth tour was at the Rodeo, where the Iraqi national team mixed into the cowboys colours. The team once again received a warm reception from the crowd. It was the first time for our national team members to witness such an event. The excitement of the surrounding happy atmosphere made the Iraqi team sing Iraqi songs with claps and whistles in the background which became a usual scene to witness whenever the team is happy, but this time even coach Bernd Stange joined the Iraqi party as pictured above dancing with Bassim Abbas. Later on the Australian national anthem was played and the enjoyment started when the the Cowboys came to run the show." "
Last Day Shopping
Perth Exclusive - It was the last day for the Iraqi national team in Perth. The team got up early in the morning to pack up their bags and get ready for the activities of their last day in the western state. The team was invited to Midland Military Markets to do their last day shopping, and was given a $ 100 AUSD from the people that own the market who happened to be close friends to Bernd Stange when he was coaching at Perth Glory. The players were gathered up first for a speech from the organizers and then Bernd Stange thanked the organizers and his friends and everyone that supported the Iraqi team. Then the players took a tour around the market and then ended up at the cafe' where halal food was organized for the lunch meal."
Last Day Shopping (Part 2)
Perth Exclusive - While the Iraqi team was shopping at Midland Military Markets, what took the attention of our media coverage team is the warm reception and the people that were welcoming the team in a friendly attitude that made wonderful scenes. One old lady came with her whole face painted with the Iraqi flag, even shop keepers reduced the price of their items when we told them those boys are from Iraq and they represent the Iraqi team which made the the people ask for our players autographs and also take personal photos with them."
