Do you know why I hate batelco?
Because they offer the minimum, and try to take the maximum, and PR in a way similar to Alsahhaf.

I was first in line on the first day of Vodaphone's launch. And I will be the first in line for any company offering a substitute to Batelco. even if they charge me 7x as much.

Why? Because its respect I seek. They do not respect us.

Whats that? I'm crazy? no I'm not. want examples?

Everytime something comes up wrong with the network, batelco will say, if you call it & if they pick up, its not our fault everything is OK.
Now I'm an IT graduate. If I use the same PC, with the same wires with the same programs? There can be nothing wrong BUT the connection.
Whats that? you say my PC could have messed up? Maybe, but what will you say if I did not touch it when it was not working & went to bed then next day everything is OK? IT IS BATELCO's WEAK NETWORK.

Look at the reasons I got from Batelco's "help" desk

* It must be windows (I just formatted)
* Its your modem (I changed it 4 times!)
* I'll go throught the outlook settings (HELLOOOO! I am trying to SURF! Not download e-mail! are you stupid?)
* ah, maybe you need to change your password (Excuse me? Why) er.. Maybe its corrupt and you need to change it (Maybe??)
* is your phone line next to a power outlet? (er.. yes, I need it to power the computer you know) AHA! That is the problem! They should be far away from each other. (Do you reccomend that I demolish & rebuild my house?)

One day I tried to connect to slownet. It failed and failed and I kept redialling for over 45 minutes because I had important business. I was calling batelco and the first time someone picked up he said I need to change the password & hung up on me. The next time someone picked up I just connected (as I said, after 45 minutes) so I told her "yal shaikha, I had a problem connecting online" she asked me "are you online now?" I said yes. so she said (imagine this) "Then you have no problem, what do you want?"
I was surprised! I told he yes I am online but after 45 minutes! is something wrong? She just said "If you are online now, then you have no problem. What do you want now? our system is OK". I said I DO have a problem which is I took 45 MINUTES to connect and she said, no TOLD me that I have no problem & if I want to discuss it I have to talk to her manager and hung up on me! Pure class!

Listen people, when new internet companies come, batelco will LOOK improved. Do not be fooled. Look at the mobile section, since when were they so nice and offered so many competitions? Akeed mu 3ashan swad 3yoona. Its because Vodafone came here & actually tought Batelco what being honest, straight forward & caring is.
And now batelco says they are investing 20 mil in broad band? What on Earth for? Certinally not for me or you. Its because competition is closing by.

These competition who are ready to offer services will not be allowed to until Batelco is ready to compete. Ya salaaam. Wanasa.

Bottom line, Batelco does not care about its service quality UNTIL it starts affecting its income. ONLY.

I've dealt with companies (Telecom & otherwise) that will take care of you because you are thier customer and they want the best for you, not because they will earn less. Companies like Vodafone, ARAMEX & Solidarity, while not perfect, I know they really try to help thier customers
