timeless enemy (العدو الأزلي )]
وقد أعجبني الموضوع فأردت أن أضعه هنا للفائدة]
I just realized something else that I think deserves its own thread
[Since finishing MPO, there was something I could not understand. How can it be that The Patriots of MPO want to make the world The Boss envisioned happen, yet The Patriots of MGS2 are the complete opposite of what The Boss wanted? I could never understand it and it seemed like a huge contradiction, or a mystery. But now I think it makes perfect sense!
The Boss wanted to make the world whole again, but she could not. Everyone was always fighting one another right, allies and foes change with the time. How can one make the world whole again? ]
[the boss :"I didn't raise you and shape you into the man you are today just so we could face each other in battle. A soldier's skills aren't meant to be used to hurt friends. So then what is an enemy? Is there such thing as an absolute timeless enemy? There is no such thing and never has been. And the reason is that our enemies are human beings like us. They can only be our enemies in relative terms. The world must be made whole again. The Philosophers must be reunited. I will devote my skills to that purpose. And with the Colonel's money, I will
[But wait, in MGS2 the AIs are not human at all. So they can be a timeless enemy, they do not change, they do ]
She achieved it! The world now has a timeless enemy, the world can now unite and fight together, because there is now such a thing as a timeless enemy! Even Kojima described The Patriots of MGS2 as "Pure Evil". That's ]
So considering that The Patriots of MPO want to make the world she envisioned a reality, it now makes perfect sense that the AIs of MGS2 are completely contradictory to the kind of world The Boss wanted to see! In order to unite the world, they had to create an enemy that opposed the WHOLE world, forever, that would not change with the times: a timeless enemy
