it seems quite hard to get people reply to new members like me
I think it is not a good idea to think in Arabic while you are learning English. i.e. when you talk to your mind, talk in English not Arabic
What are your views?![]()
Welcome omania3 to our Montada and specifically to the English Forum
In regard to your Q, I think it depends on two things
first, how much do I practice English in my daily life, and what is the topic that I am thinking about
If it is a subject that I have already studied in English, or read about, in the first place, in English and I have good vocabulary then I will think on it in English, otherwise, I will think on it in Arabic simply because I have better experience with Arabic vocabulary
Thank you

Hi Omania 3 welcome to the english forum,,
Thinking in english is far better than arabic !
Cuz if you think in arabic it will took a while to translate it within your mind,
then say it , so it will be annoying and quite grueling
Therefore ,, The best way is to think in English

is very poor so English is my only choice

Well… I talk to myself in English and I do think in English, I’ve been practicing for too long to do so,
However, some claim that we naturally translate everything we receive into our own mother language, whether we planned to or not,
This process is said to happen almost instantly, moreover, it happens all the time.
It is also claimed that the more you practice the faster this happens.
So basically, we translate what we receive and what we send.
Now, I won’t say I’m totally convinced with this idea but it sound somewhat logical, so I guess - in a way- it is correct.
Thanx and welcome, omania3.
Nice topic.
Hi sander I agree with you
.It is also claimed that the more you practice the faster this happens
another way to do that ,,
it's by translating the word into english
for instance , I found the words Paunch , I will translate it into english ' Stomach ' so ,,next time when I Hear or see it
I will understand as stomach

Strong and content, I travel the open road
thinking in english is a pleasure in itself
lol
Last night I dreamt in Englishthis isn’t the first time this happens
maybe thinking in other language results in dreaming in it.
anyone with similar experiences?
I dream usually about the last thing I was doing before going to sleep,
and the last thing I was doing last night was writing in English, makes sense.
