FUNimation and Atari announced their latest collaborative agreement at an exciting event during this year's E3 tradeshow in Los Angeles: Enter Yu Yu Hakusho! Atari plans to publish video games for multiple video game systems based on the blockbuster Yu Yu Hakusho series. Gen Fukunaga, president of FUNimation Productions, Ltd., and Bruno Bonnell, chairman and CEO of Atari, Inc., were on hand to help celebrate the announcement.
Venerable voice actor Chris Sabat, who is best known for his voice as Vegeta and Picollo in the Dragon Ball series. was the event's MC. With all the key players in position everything fell into place and the event went off beautifully. Even the authentic Japanese drummers had a good time!
Both FUNimation and Atari achieved banner success with last year's catalog of Dragon Ball Z video games, selling over 3 million units collectively. Atari proved that it can capture the essence of a franchise with their superb work on Dragon Ball Z: Budokai for the Playstaion® 2. Expect great things from the robust schedule of Yu Yu Hakusho video game releases scheduled to begin this holday season!
