Yu Watase has done it again!!!
Yu Watase never makes a bad manga. I recommend this to all u Yu Watase fans or just starting to read manga. Its a great story line (i would never think of that storyline). i'm so jealous. I dont think i can ever surpass Yu Watase for creativity. Get this Manga!
Alice 19th, another work by Yuu Watase (known for Fushigi Yuugi, Ayashi no Ceres, and Imadoki as well as many others) is a story about a girl called Seno Arisu (Seno Alice) who is overshadowed by her beautiful and more talented older sister called Seno Mayura. Mayura is a year older than Alice, and everyone looks up to her. On the contrary, Alice is not really noticed and only known as "Mayura's little sister". Alice has always wanted a pet, and one day sees a rabbit going to be knocked down by some cars, and dashes onto the road to save it. Strangely, a glow envelopes her as she nears the rabbit. Alice saves the rabbit, and expects the cars to stop but it didn't and she was going to be knocked down, but was saved by a guy! This guy is Wakamiya Kyou, who is Alice's senior and whom she has a crush on. Alice, Mayura and Kyou are all in the archery club. Mayura is very close to Kyou, she knows him longer than Alice, because she's the same age as him. She addresses him as Kyou (his first name) while most people will only called by his last name "Wakamiya". One night, Mayura looks Alice up and asks her for her opinion on what to give Kyou for his birthday, and Alice finds out that her sister is in love with Kyou too! On Kyou's B-day, Alice chances to meet him along corridor and decides to tell him how she feels about him, but Mayura shows up so Alice excuses herself and gives way to her older sister. Feeling very sad that she cannot love Kyou, because Mayura loves him, Alice cries on her way home, and makes a slient prayer to have more courage. All of a sudden, the rabbit she saved during the car crash appears in front of her and transforms into some magical rabbit-girl and tells her she will make her wishes come true! It turns out that the Rabbit endows Alice with the power of the Lotis, and she now has to learn to use this power and discover the power of the other Lotis stones to vanquish the evil in the hearts of her friends and family, along the way finding her true self so as not to be overshadowed by Mayura, who has fallen into the darkness of evil demons and vanished from the real world. And thus the journey of a young high school student begins
Seno Alice (Arisu) is the main girl in 1st year of high school who secretly likes Wakamiya Kyou. One day she tries to save a white rabbit on the road from a car, and winds up beings saved by Kyou. Overshadowed by Mayura at school, she later finds this bracelet on the ground left by the bunny and becomes Lotis Master, having the power to help free people from the evil of the Inner Heart. ]
Wakamiya Kyou is the main guy who is loved by Mayura and Alice. He is a good friend and classmate of Mayura, but isn't sure of his own feelings when he agrees to become Mayura's boyfriend and later finds himself liking another. With a talent in archery and a dark past, he helps Alice along her journey & more to save Mayura and the other victims from the darkness within, the second new Lotis Master.
Seno Mayura is the popular older sister of Alice. She likes Kyou, disappearing and falling into the hands of the darkness within her heart after Alice wished her away and Kyou tried to tell her that he did not love her as a girlfriend. From there on, the darkness within her heart has only been growing more powerful each day, to achive one thing: taking Kyou back even if it means hurting her own family.
Nyozeka is a magical-type rabbit creature who has 3 forms: 1) a white rabbit with red eyes, 2) a round bunny plushie, and 3) rabbit-girl as you see to your right. Alice found Nyozeka and saved her from a car, who in turn led Alice to the first step of becoming a Lotis Master: by leaving a Lotis bracelet for Alice. An advisor, guide, companion and friend, she assists Alice through real life and Lotis problems.
Frei (Furei/Frey) is an experienced Lotis Master who has come from Scandinavia to guide and help the two masters-in-training, and though flirtatious, he love Alice. In fact, he wants to marry Alice. While in Japan he stays with Kyou most of the time, and with good intentions, he also tries to give Kyou advice. Frey also knows about the Lotis history and is the one to swear Alice and Kyou into full Lotis Mastership.
Lord Christopher William Orson Andrew Roland XIII (Chris) comes from England. Chris is a young, wealthy, quiet but keen and powerful Lotis Master who has come to help out the group. Not much is really known about him until later in the series. Being a noble, he has had a past of being different from others. His butler Stewart is very watchful of him.
Alice's Father & Mother both seem to worry more about their missing daughter, Mayura, more than Alice, and are temporarily swallowed by the Inner Heart but saved. They aren't exactly sure of what's going on between Alice and Mayura.
Kyou's Aunt & Uncle run a coffee shop. Kind and loving, they took Kyou in when none of his other relatives would, and cared for him like a son. Kyou just has to help them work. They even allowed Frey to stay with them and help serve.
Matsujou Tatsuya and Ooshi are schoolmates and victims of the Inner Heart. Matsujou was Alice's short-term boyfriend, set up by Mayura. Ooshi likes Kyou and tried to make Kyou like her back by revealing his secret past to others.
Mara are powerful demons that exist within the hearts of people with dark and evil intentions. Men in Black are Maram Masters who wear masks. They vowed to help Mayura "take back Kyou." Both, as you can see, are related to each other.
Kazuki is a friend of Kyou who spotted Mayura in the subway, followed her to the Tokyo Government building, and telephoned Kyou of this news, getting him into havoc. Stewart is Lord Christopher's butler who watches him over very well.
Samuel and Keina are two other victims with dark pasts that have succumbed to the darkness of the Inner Heart. However, unlike Matsujou and Ooshi, they have no trace of humanity left in their souls that could be brought back and save their lives.
Meiling and Billy are also Lotis masters who have come to help out and join Alice, Kyou, Frei and Lord Christopher. Like Frei, they are also experienced masters that make the journey and battle against the evil of Maram a little more interesting.
Ida is Frei's cousin, four years older than he is but nonetheless his lover. Beautiful, but engaged, she had lived with Frei for a few years until Frei's uncle found out. She had searched for Frei later on, only to be heartbroken and die from sleeping in the snow, waiting for him.
