Hi everybody

I want to tell u something that worries me and upsets me alot

When I was young I always loved to talk in English, & dreamedto speak it fluently, so when I was in high-school I

choose ENGLISH to be my major and planned to complete studying English in

Art college كلية الآداب تخصص انجليزي

but unfotunately me family & friends didnt encouraged me to study there for several of reasons so i went to Education college

im so regreted i feel so sorry to let a chance like that go away between my hands! i was soooo goood at it i was like a dictionary i swear i was a grammar book and now Nothing I lost all that because my study is all in arabic i didnt have any situation or anything that makes me talk in english or practice it

and due to that i became too lazy to read something in english or watch an english movie without the arabic subtitle & now im not a dictionary anymore "im a "spelling mistake dictionary

please help me be good at it again

any Tips???

but my advise is to find ur old friends who can speak english well then try to get together ...speak and u will be better than be4

when i started reading ur topic i felt that u were a beginner in English
i thought that u were an Eng. student
ur lang. is really good
its really sorrowful that u missed the chance
u would have been an excellent speaker
depending on what u r now

try to force urself
u may also start taking some courses in Eng. to improve ur grammar
also paticipating in English forums would be helpful to improve ur writing skills

oh, you're fine, don't worry. I recommend you start reading IMMEDIATELY. Read everything you can get your hands on, preferably in topics you enjoy. I actually would recommend reading to anyone, that's all I ever do, just sit down and read.

As far as speaking goes, well, you will have to practice with native speakers. If your ear-training is good, meaning you can listen to a conversation between two native speakers and understand the gist of it, then you're in good shape. You don't have to understand every word; most English speakers are not very educated, Americans anyways. Americans have a very primitive vocabulary that they use to communite among each other, but those who specialize in a certain field or industry have their own vocabulary. Doctors and lawyers might speak English to me, but I would have no clue what they're saying unless they put it in simple terms.

You don't have to go for Shakespeare or Chaucer right off the bat, I would say shoot for Hollywood movies and you should be alright :-)

iam sorry for wut have happened to u

but wut can u do life is like that

but u just gotta calm down
if u just wanna be a good speaker in english
u gotta read everything in front of u whichs is written in english
and not just reading it but u gotta really read it loud as u can hear
and anyword u dont understand just lok it up in any dictionary u got

and just try listening to like english conversations by the way u understand it

try again for english movie try and by them without the subtitle or if u have got english channels without the translation

and.........well go and listen to english songs
that and try to understand and just keep on saying it all da time


and i think thats all i gotta say but if i found a better way for it i'll be posting here
