A common sort of passive

A commen sort of passive is the structure(Needs to be done/Needs+verb+ing )

This structure is used when it is necessary to do something and it is not necesaary to know who do it.


Ex:
1-The car is very dirty ,it needs to be washed.
2-The car is very dirty,it needs washing.


This structure is used at the all tenses in the same way:
1-The car is very dirty ,it will need washing/to be washed
2-The car was very dirty,it needed washing/to be washed
