You could hear a pin drop و كأن على رؤوسهم الطير
To have an axe to grind لغاية في نفس يعقوب
You've brought it on yourself / it serves you rightوعلى نفسها جنت براقش
Opportunities don't grow on trees / Christmas comes once a year اذا هبت رياحك فاغتنمها
Once bitten, twice shyلايلدغ المرء من جحرٍ مرتين
Stretch your legs according to your coverlet علىقدر بساطك مد رجليك
The die is cast سبقالسيف العذل
You'e missed a very good chanceفيالصيف ضيعتي اللبن
To refrain from tellin' the truth is satanic الساكت عن الحق شيطان اخرس
A word can sometimes be costly / A word costs you a fortune رُب كلمة سلبت نعمة
A bad workman always blames his tools سلاح الضعفاء الشكاية
He kept silent for ages only to voice(say) trash(rubbish) سكت ألفاٍ و نطق خلفاً
Sweet words & bad deeds كلامٌ كالعسل و فعلٌ كالاسل
More by hit than by wit رميةٌ من غير رامٍ
like father, like son فرخ البط عوام
Old habits die hard من شب على شيء شاب عليه
The leopard cannot change its spots الطبع غلب التطبع
A word is enough to the wise ان البيب بالاشارة يفهم
As different as chalk from cheese اين الثرى من الثريا
Between the devil & the deep blue sea امران احلاهما مرٌ
Grasp all , lose all الطمع ضر و ما نفع
Many hands make light work يد الله مع الجماعه
Marriages are made in heaven الزواج قسمة و نصيب
Every dog has his day الدهر يومان يومٌ لك و يومٌ عليك
Of two evils, choose the lesser بعض الشر اهون من بعض
It's God who bestows livelihood رزقكم في السماء و ما توعدون
The hunchback doesn't see his own hump يرى العيب في غيره و لا يراه في نفسه
One man's meat is another's poison مصائب قوم عند قوم فوائد
More than enough is too much خير الامور اوسطها
They brag most who can do least اسمع جعجعة و لا ارى طحنا
The sooner, the better / A stitch in time saves nine خير البر عاجله
Give the devil his due اعطِ لكل ذي حقٍ حقه
Like carrying coals to Newcastle كجالب التمر الى هجر
