Write a general description of SDH based upon the information contained in Figure 4.10 of Block 2 Part 1 Synchronous Digital Hierarchy. This can be done by tracing a path through the diagram from 2048 kbit/s to STM-n. Explain clearly what happens between each block in the diagram, and why each block is important to the operation of SDH. You do not have to trace every possible path, and you can generalize when you discuss principles that repeat as you progress through the structure.
