Edgar Allan Poem .. Annabel Lee ..

Salam Everyone, It's been awhile

Here I come today with one of the most touching peoms
That I've ever read, & I really like it & It's so famous
It's the Edgar Allan peom that he wrote after his beloved died....

It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;

And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.
I was a child and she was a child,

In this kingdom by the sea:
But we loved with a love that was more than love -
I and my Annabel Lee;
With a love that the winged seraphs of heaven
Coveted her and me.

And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;

So that her high-born kinsmen came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.
The angels, not half so happy in heaven, ----<<< Hope you overlook this paragraph ....

Went envying her and me -

Yes! that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud one night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.
But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we -

Of many far wiser than we -
And neither the angels in heaven above,
Nor the demons down under the sea,
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
For the moon never beams without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;

And the stars never rise but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling -my darling -my life and my bride,
In the sepulchre there by the sea -
In her tomb by the sounding sea.

I dont know what this man believes in
I dont know what his religion is
( I still think he's Jewish )
But well its still his thoughts

You know, I agree with you that he's kinda crazy But you know
A long time ago I read some of his stories & Liked them to be honest
& I also read this peom & thought about sharing it for those who like him

I know this poem ... I might have heard it in a movie once
English Literature differs from Arabic
Since our poems after Jahiliya became more symbolic
whereas those of English speaking poets are, Less touching
Don't you think

I totally agree with you
I mean no matter how touching the poem is
I can never compare with arabic ones
Especially the ones where they praise our great prophet
Muhammed ( pease be upon him ), But still some of them are not Too bad, Don't you think so???

Mustafa you know how I think of this poem
it was one of the first poem in my life to read I LOVE it
And yeah Edgar was indeed crazy who said he wasn't
he wrote the most insane crazy and creepy stories in the American history
I think I have his profile somewhere.. I 'll look for it and post it
his romance poems though are the best and Shakespear's too but Shakespeare have a hard languge one can't understand it..

He made most of the main characters in his stories
To die horrible daeths Or Suffering & Being tortured like hell
I find the one where the sick girl dies under the ruins of the house of suffocating, one of the saddest ones.....
Anyways He's not Muslim, Like I care about a psycho like him...
